Hyundai to Produce High-Performance Electric Vehicles

The world’s largest car companies are planning to abandon internal combustion engine cars and turn to electric vehicles. South Korea-based Hyundai is also in the middle of these brands. Recently, we shared with you that the company introduced the new electric sedan model Ioniq 6. It was mentioned that this remarkable vehicle could compete with the Tesla Model 3.

The giant company announced that it will make another breakthrough in electric cars with its new statements. Hyundai stated that it will start to produce electric vehicles under a brand that it uses for high-performance vehicles.

Hyundai N going electric

If you are a car enthusiast, you may have heard of the ‘N’ brand that Hyundai established in 2016. The brand, named after a famous race track in Germany, can be described as a classification used by the giant company in its high-performance vehicles. The statements made now show that the company will also start producing electric vehicles under the N brand and will compete with luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The South Korean-based car manufacturer stated in its statements that the high-performance ‘N’ version of its electric SUV Ioniq 5 will be released in 2023. In addition, Hyundai introduced two high-performance concept vehicles, the RN22e (right vehicle) and N Vision 74 (left vehicle), on Thursday. It has not been announced whether these vehicles will be produced or not.

When the concept vehicles are examined, it is seen that the RN22e is similar to the design of the Ioniq 6 and will have an extended range. The N Vision 74, which resembles a classic vehicle, is inspired by the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo and 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe concept vehicles.

According to the statements, both vehicles were prepared to show the Hyundai company’s vision for the future. This shows that the brand aims to transform from a budget-friendly car manufacturer to a brand that produces luxury electric vehicles worldwide. It is also possible to understand this from the stylish designs of vehicles such as the Ioniq 5 SUV and Ioniq 6.
